LEFTFIELDERS

Playing leftfield at Lutheran High School is a significant challenge. First, the sun can be brutal for players to see the ball in late afternoon/early evening games. As we know, the distance down the line is not all that far. Hence, "Lutheran Home Run!" It is not easy to learn where to play in relation to the fence. Also, since the outfield was used by other sports, bad bounces were not unusual. The guys we had in leftfield were always up for the challenge and played the position well.
