Each season the players on the Lutheran Baseball teams all contributed to the success of the teams. As a season is played, typically one or more of the players demonstrate that their performance has been individually excellent and impactful in games and practices. The players and coaches vote to recognize exemplary contributions to the team success.

His stats: a batting average of .627 that was in the Top 10 of Indiana history for many years, 12 home runs, 3 triples and 6 doubles. Jared was walked 30 times. As a pitcher, Bryce won 2 games and had 43.1 innings pitched while experiencing several

"No Decision" games while pitching well. Bryce was selected as Honorable Mention All-State. Sadly, to a pet peeve of mine, the 3 players chosen as Outfielders on the All-State Team clearly did not play Outfield based on their defensive stats, yet coaches voted for them.

2014 Eli Goff

Eli completed his Lutheran Baseball career with an excellent season. His individual efforts were recognized at Lutheran and also as a selection to the IHSBCA All-State team. Addison's hits included 8 doubles, 4 triples and 6 home runs. He also added 25 RBI to his stats. A centerfielder, Addison was excellent as he had good speed and could run down most fly balls. A key factor for Addison's success was that he loved to play baseball. His enthusiasm was a major positive for his teammates and coaches. As a result of his excellent season, Addison was voted to the IHSBCA All-State team.

2015 Seth Hougesen

Senior - Outfield/Pitcher

In a unique season where we had 10 games cancelled due to weather, Spencer was a key figure in winning another Sectional championship. Following the season Spencer was selected to the All-Marion County Baseball team.

2017 Patrick Kem

Senior - Shortstop

Lutheran Baseball won its first Regional Championship in 2017 and Pat was instrumental in leading a team that was very young. Of our 12 players we had 3 seniors, 1 junior, 5 sophomores and 3 freshmen. Pat led with excellent play, positive attitude and winning approach to play every day. With a batting average of .372, Pat led the team from the lead-off spot. He had 32 hits including 9 doubles. He also had 13 stolen bases and 14 RBI. 2018 Matthew Alter

Matthew had a very good junior season. In his third season as a Varsity player, Matthew played his third different position. Coming into high school Matthew was a first baseman/pitcher. During the season Matthew hit in the lead-off spot and had a batting average of .382. He led the team with 34 base hits, 7 doubles and 5 home runs. He scored 27 runs and had 16 RBI. He struck out 105 batters in 67.1 innings. He won both games of our Sectional, beating Edinburgh in 8 innings with 18 strikeouts and then Southwestern with 12 K's while giving up only 3 earned runs in total. Interestingly, 3 of his losses were to University High School that ended up being the 1A State Runner-Up.

Noah Wood

Junior - Catcher/Pitcher

Noah led our team with a batting average of .458 hitting in the 3rd spot in the batting order. He scored 29 runs and had 33 base hits including 7 doubles and 3 home runs. Noah also lead our team with 13 stolen bases and 19 walks. As a catcher, Noah was outstanding. He had great presence behind the plate. He was excellent in keeping pitches in front of him and gave our pitchers confidence in pitching to him. His fielding average was .996. In addition to catching, Noah was our #2 pitcher making six starts and 3 relief appearances. He had two Wins and one Save during the season.

Matthew faced North Central, Lawrence Central, Cardinal Ritter, Scecina, Southport, Lafayette Jeff, #1 Hauser and the ultimate State Champion, University High School. Matthew was selected to the All-Marion County Baseball team and was voted to the IHSBCA All-State team as a pitcher.
